Are you aged 13-18 and living in or near to Great Yarmouth? Do you want a chance to have your say? Learn more about social action, activism and the issues that are affecting you and your community?
Be a part of MEGAPHONE. A new creative programme for young people that will teach you the skills and give you the confidence you need to find your place in activism, amplify your voice and create change.
MEGAPHONE will start this October half-term with 6 weekly online sessions exploring creative activism such as zine-making and blogs, video content, creating banners and printed materials, as well as platforms you can use to engage in online activism. You’ll be working with a small group of like-minded young people, and the local issues you explore will be chosen by YOU!
Artist Ian Brownlie will introduce you to the power of signs and symbols in activism.
Textile artist Genevieve Rudd will work with you to explore textiles and craft in creative activism.
Budding young writers Ananya Bhattacharya and Ellie Reeves will be showing you how to utilise creative writing, campaigning and blog writing.
Plus there will be lots of opportunities to get to know each other, and explore the local issues you care about most with MEGAPHONE Project Coordinator Jade Anderson.
