New Muse Textile Workshop
Saturday 10 July, 10am-1pm
The Garage, Norwich
Working with artists New Muse – we will be creating a collaborative art/textile installation together. Participants will be working on an individual piece to become part of a final installation. We are collaging fabrics and using paint to create a piece with the theme around now and this transitional moment. We will ask everyone involved to pick music they have found during this time and we will play it. We will make, instinctively cutting fabrics and painting whilst listening to this music. The final piece will then be exhibited as part of the ReConnect ReDiscover ReEngage exhibition running throughout the Festival.
The New Muse delivers inclusive fashion/textile and art workshops. We are two designer/artists and we deliver these workshops into community projects. We explore all the creative, fun, experimental and skilful areas of fashion, textiles and art to make great work together.
No previous experience necessary, and all materials will be provided. Recommended for ages 11-25. The Garage is a fully accessible building, please let us know if you have any access needs.
Places are FREE but limited so please register in advance. Deadline to sign up is Monday 5 July.
The YNAF programme has been put together with the current Covid-19 restrictions in mind – with a reduced capacity for any indoor events, exhibitions and workshops. You can find our updated Covid-19 guidance here
