Suitable for ages 16-25

Join artists Liam Roberts and Lewis Wickwar as they take you on a tour through some of the technology they use to create video art!

Learn how to use simple programmes and equipment to generate videos and animations, applying a range of techniques including basic video editing and live video performance.

Submit your contribution in advance! We’re looking for work which depicts your surroundings so we can create a piece of collaborative video art in the session. Using any camera at your disposal, we’re asking participants to capture some short video sequences that tell a visual story about where they are. Using the starting points of Colour, Texture and Shape, participants are encouraged to send any type of moving image clip a week in advance, which will then become part of our collaborative video.

Please note: this is not a formal film making session – although suitable for all young people interested in video production the aim is to be free and expressive in exploring a range of technologies, with the aim of highlighting alternative approaches to video and creative careers in moving image.

Liam Roberts is a VJ and visual artist, his work is mainly performance based and has collaborated with a range of artists and musicians. Check out his work here

Lewis Wickwar is a video artist who creates collaborative video art with groups of all ages and abilities.

All of our workshops are FREE and will take place via Zoom. Places are limited so please register in advance!
