Times Shifting is a mentored writing programme developing the ideas of Historical Fiction. Historical Fiction always seeks to find new angles on people, places and events in the past, and hopes to give new insights about what was actually going on. Taking you through creative writing inspirations and tasks to get you exploring the times, places, events and people that surround you. You will be sharing your observations, insights and writings with people living in very different circumstances.

The times we live in are often described as ‘historic’ – it is a turning point in the way the world around functions and develops. No-one could have predicted what happened last year, and no-one can really predict what is about to happen. And all predictions are fiction! The aim of the first part of the project is to build up a picture of Now, as times are changing. Then, we will ask you to write about now as if you were living in the future.

The programme is FREE and open to anyone aged 16-24 and from anywhere in the world. Sessions will run twice weekly online via Zoom with a start date TBC.
